April 2007

Had a call yesterday morning from my DealerTrack source. He wanted to confirm that we would sign with DealerTrack if they met RouteOne’s pricing. We discussed:

  1. meet RouteOne’s price (no I didn’t disclose it)
  2. No set up fee
  3. No minimum volume for meeting RouteOne’s price.

It will be interesting to see if this happens or not. It will also be interesting to see how DealerTrack handles their existing customers as well as how RouteOne responds. Stay tuned!

Take a look at Seth Godin’s post on Meetings to see his suggestions. Some great ideas here!

One of my larger concerns about blogging was posting my email address on my blog. I did so reluctantly when I received some comments about the lack of a way to contact me directly. My thanks to Marc Orchant and his blog for bringing Contactify to my attention. Great SOLUTION!

I just got back from a day of training and checked my voicemail. I had a message from a DealerTrack representative (who we do not use) asking me to call him. I called and his question to me was, “If our price matched RouteOne’s would you use us?”! This could be a great thing for CU’s. Any kind of a price war between DealerTrack and RouteOne is in my best interest! If you have not completed my CU Indirect Lending Survey, please take a moment to do so. Stay tuned for any future developments!

When I saw this post from Trey, my first thought was, “Not unless I’m injured!” I had never heard of yelp, but in my opinion, there should be away to leverage it to good use in building relationships with your dealers. Kudos to Trey for passing along some great information!

April has been the month where I “hit the wall.” I’ve had two board proposals to prepare, two branches to review loan files from the last year, and our annual line of credit review completed. Sorry for the lack of activity, but things are CRAZY! I am hoping to have some items posted in the next week. If any readers have specific items they would like to hear about, please let me know at tcarnaha at midmocu dot com.

Take a look at this short post by Marc Orchant. Couldn’t agee with him more! TBIF!
